The CWSC and AM360.org Radio honor the life, work and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Indeed both Dr. King and his beautiful partner, the Honorable Coretta Scott King, both drum majors for justice, stood for the millions who could not have their voices heard. Today we must continue the struggle for social and economic justice.
On this day of commemoration, we’re grateful for each and every believer who comes to this intelligentsia in service to our total community, our nation, and the world. For CWSC volunteers, this day in which citizens are encouraged to graciously set aside time to help communities, is in fact replicated by us each and everyday, and we’re grateful to Allah (SWT) that He has brought us together.

The fulfillment of a dream…
NATIONAL ― The Remaking Our World Calendar 2020 Edition is hot off the press and making a powerful impact across the nation and beyond as it marks the 10th Anniversary of American Muslim 360 Radio Network.
This year’s edition spotlights Community Wide Shuraa Conference (CWSC) and American Muslim 360 (AM360.org) as the fulfillment of a vision beheld by the late American Muslim leader Imam Dr. W. Deen Mohammed (R) to build a national intelligentsia for the Muslim community in service to all.
Guided by Imam Mohammed’s vision and the pioneering work of the late broadcaster Imam Thomas Abdul Salaam (R), CWSC is now a multi-faith, multi-ethnic institution. After ten years and over $2 million in volunteer time and labor, the national intelligentsia infrastructure is here for the American Muslim group intellect, the broader society, and even to the highest level of global shuraa―the United Nations.
CWSC’s Executive Director Mukhtar Muhammad who succeeded Imam Thomas, stated recently, “…the Imam was absolutely correct when he said an intelligentsia is what was needed and that if we built it for all, then we could do wonders in this country…Our leader peered ahead and encouraged many among us who are now committed to the intelligentsia concept. Praise be to Allah (SWT) for Imam Thomas who made the connections that now bring our group intellect together in a respectful shared freedom space everyday to help fulfill the vision of model community life…”

CWSC Scholarship Cycle Opens February
Encouraging academic excellence, civic engagement and historic preservation
Scholarships are another intelligentsia component at CWSC and focuses on the fact that while we’re working on any number of issues at any point in time, we must devote resources simultaneously to secure our next generation intelligentsia leaders. Each February during African American History Month through June, our scholarship cycle opens to qualified matriculating college-bound high school and current college students of all faiths.
In addition to providing cash funds to pay for higher education, our scholarships feature a historical and cultural preservation component that offers families of pioneers the ability to open nationally supported, tax deductible college scholarships in honor of a pioneer.
Through MAP scholarships, CWSC is a national scholarship administrator helping families establish lasting legacies for those who helped make a home for Al-Islam and/or religious freedom and civil rights in America. In essence, the next generation will learn about our pioneers’ contributions and be inspired to not only get an education, but to also be civically engaged in helping to remake the world.
Because of the generosity of families in the MAP program and donor support, we now offer five (5) scholarships including the Payton Next Generation Scholarship; Taheerah R. Muhammad Educational Excellence Scholarship; Twin Servant of Peace Excellence in Broadcasting & Communication Scholarship; Words Make People Literary Excellence & Scholarship Award honoring Imam W. Deen Mohammed; and the Yahya K. Muhammad Business & Community Leadership Award.
CWSC Scholarships helps us show our students we care about their future and need their voice and intellect at the table of shuraa baynahum for the community’s future. Encouraging our students and making a contribution to higher education through college funding are great blessings for us all.
