A Day of Service: Honoring Dr. King and the Dream!

NATIONAL ― As-Salaam-Alaikum (Peace be with you).

On this beautiful day commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., we’re grateful for each and every believer who comes to this intelligentsia in service to our total community, our nation, and the world.

For CWSC volunteers, this day in which citizens are encouraged to graciously set aside time to help communities, is in fact replicated by us each and everyday, and we’re grateful to Allah (SWT) that He has brought us together.

Today as we remember Dr. King’s contributions, we share in this update, good news on several fronts, and a couple of announcements and reminders, so we can leave you to remembrance the rest of the evening.

First, CWSC is honored to welcome aboard new volunteer, Kalimah Azeez Rashada from the great State of Tennessee, which by the way is a ridge home to Lookout Mountain, that great landscape Dr. King so eloquently spoke of in his I have a Dream speech. Welcome aboard Kalimah, we’re looking forward to your contributions.

We’re simply astounded by Allah’s Mercy. Earlier today, a believer, aware we we’re just shy of our $10,000 radio-telethon goal, has just made a contribution of $1,188.00! Praise be to Allah (SWT), that brings us past our goal to $10,197! Thank you to everyone for the generous support and execution of the Telethon.

Next, as you know CWSC is committed to being a resource center for communities nationwide. For example, we have online for the first time, the infrastructure and system to provide onsite and/or remote assistance to any institution via the National Resource Directory or MCNRD. We connect believers across the country to the #1 Islamic radio station in the nation that includes in its lineup, the Share-Your-Jumuah program featuring more kutbahs from the widest group intellect of katibs and imams than any other source in the nation, thus combating Islamophobia and religious extremism at an unprecedented level.

Our national Speakers Bureau, the first of its kind for our community, is organizing to help take our voices into the Four Birds of Society as never before. We now have eleven intelligentsia components dedicated to a range of high-priority issues from college scholarships to international publication at the United Nations from our national think tank…and the best is yet to come (see more below).

Now a few announcements and reminders…

–We’re looking for volunteers for a Special Events Planning Team to design a national event at an unprecedented level. Thank you to all who have responded, but we need more to reply and accept to be on this historic team.

–We’re looking for a volunteer to become assistant to the CWSC Corporate Secretary. You’ll have an important role in the administrative accountability for CWSC operations. Please email reply as soon as possible.
