NATIONAL ― Our brother and leader, Thomas Abdul-Salaam, has passed away. We ask that Allah forgive him his sins and grant him the Paradise. We ask Allah’s mercy upon his wife, Dr. Aisha Kareem and his entire family, and that Allah (SWT) will grant them strength in their loss.
As a visionary founder of American Muslim 360 (AM360) and Community Wide Shuraa Conference (CWSC), he left us a legacy of faith, commitment and service to us, our entire American Muslim community and beyond.
Those of us who knew him up close and personal, have lost an inspiring mentor and sincere believer and friend who truly demonstrated that a Muslim is a mirror for his brother, for Thomas reflected the best in us and our group aspiration. His leadership and service we pray will be a sadaqah jarriyyah for himself and his family.
We want you to know that Thomas left us at Community Wide Shuraa Conference and American Muslim 360 a blue print for success. We will continue building on the foundation he ardently supported of shuraa baynahum to continue guiding both CWSC and AM360 to be the premier models of service and excellence he envisioned.
The Salatul Jinnaazah is Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at the Islamic Cemetery, 14273 North Beckman Road, Lodi CA 95240. Believers are asked to offer prayers for Thomas and his family in their jamaat on Friday.
Additional information on tributes at AM360 and CWSC will be released as soon as possible. If you would like to share your thoughts, memories and condolences, please send them to info@cwsc.us and stay tuned to AM360. You may make charitable contributions to CWSC, Inc. in Thomas’ memory online here or via U.S. mail to: CWSC, Marina Village 4905 34th Street S #185, St. Petersburg, FL 33711-4511. No expressions can fully convey our loss or the gratitude we feel for having had the opportunity to work with Brother Thomas. We do know he would want us to stay committed and connected to the work of improving our community life and that is how we can best honor his memory.
As-Salaam-Alaikum.
