CWSC AM360 National Telethon begins Tuesday, June 28

NATIONAL ― As-Salaam-Alaikum (Peace be with you).

The Noble Prophet (S) said: “This is a month, the first part of which brings Allah’s Mercy, the middle of which brings Allah’s Forgiveness, and the last which brings emancipation from the hellfire.” [Bukhari]

What a wonderful time for us not only as a local or national community, but as a global community experiencing the Mercy and Compassion of our Creator during the Blessed Month of Ramadan.

As we enter the final third of the Month, we now seek emancipation.  After the Fast, we should be freer too in our hearts and minds and spirits to seek an even greater victory. 

Ramadan for us has been very special too in that we’ve heard from so many of you participating with the group intellect in the daily Qur’anic reading broadcast live at American Muslim 360 and those benefiting off-air who are sight impaired taking advantage of our Personal Qur’an Reading Service. We’re able to serve because of the dedication of volunteers and the financial support of believers just like you around the nation.

And so, we’re inviting you to help us continue this magnificent work to build a national intelligentsia to support you and all our institutions and communities. Join us right after the Qur’anic reading on Tuesday, June 28 at 8 a.m. EST as we kick off the National CWSC – AM360 Radio Telethon. Join hosts, the CEO of AM360, Dr. Aisha Kareem, members of the AM360 Governance Committee and many more volunteers and of course our listenership on-air as we conduct our major fundraiser to raise $10,000 to help us sustain and continue expanding operations.

We ask you to make your tax deductible contribution online right here at cwsc.us and of course giving in this month carries even greater reward, so we pray Allah (SWT) will multiply your gift.

Just look for the blue donate button at the top right of our website to make a convenient, safe and secure contribution in whatever amount is comfortable for you. You have the choice to make a one-time or a recurring contribution. A recurring donation means the monthly amount is automatically deducted from your designated account to CWSC. You can cancel your recurring donation anytime. We hope you’ll consider becoming one of our recurring contributors which helps us better forecast our operating revenues and know we have your support each month.

While we welcome the most generous donations, every contribution is a blessing. Our most popular recurring giving level is just $9.99 a month or 33 cents a day. It’s a small gift because it’s based on each of us doing our part so there’s no undue burden on any one of us. And although it’s a small amount, your 33 cents a day at CWSC goes a long way supporting scholarships and cultural historic preservation programs; the model communities national resources directory and volunteer resource network; internship and leadership development programs; the national think tank and speakers bureau; share your jumah and more than 30 other Islamic broadcasting programs and growing, all serving our entire community and beyond.

We published our first public policy document for the world when our CWSC delegation attended a history making general assembly session at the highest level of global shuraa—the United Nations, with voices from our group intellect speaking to a universal human concern on drug policy and criminal justice reform. A Melodic Blessing: The AM360 Qari Contest

“After six years American Muslim 360 (AM360) is changing its opening prayer recitation and we want your help!”—American Muslim 360 Broadcasting

NATIONAL― As-Salaam-Alaikum (Peace be with you).

In Al-Islam, the human voice can be uplifting, melodic and inspiring as anyone familiar with the Adhan, the call to prayer for the faithful, can attest. In fact, from the call of prayer to the recitation of Qur’an in daily devotion, to religious services and ceremonies, the human voice and intellect go hand in hand with recitation of Al-Qur’an, the Final Scripture revealed to all humanity.

And the most often repeated verses are at the beginning of the Qur’an and serve as the most common opening supplication in moments both public and private. So too at AM360, the First Chapter of Qur’an entitled Al-Faitha, begins our morning and evening program segments. But now the time has come to replace the current Al-Fatiha recitation with a Qari’s recitation from a new group intellect…our AM360 listenership.

A Qari is a reciter of Qur’an who combines eloquence, melody and superior technical ability in the correct recitation of Qur’anic Arabyiyyah, the special language the Creator uses to speak to mankind’s intellect.

Beginning now through the Blessed Month of Ramadan, we’re asking you to call in and give us your best recitation of Al-Fatiha. Then at the end of Ramadan, we’ll ask our listenership to help us select the new recitation that will commence our programming each day.

It’s easy to participate. Just call into our corporate offices at (910) 317-0297 and record your recitation right on our voice mail. You’ll need a quiet area for best quality. Make sure you’ve got a strong signal for cordless and smartphones. Speak directly into the phone (no speaker phones please) at your normal voice level. If you err and need to make a correction, simply stop and restart, you need not hangup. BE SURE TO INCLUDE YOUR NAME, CITY & STATE, EMAIL and TELEPHONE.

The AM360 CEO and Executive Producer will select the top five. Then we’ll ask our AM360 listenership to select the recitation they believe should become our new opening AM360 programming recital.

Submissions will be accepted through July 7, 2016. The selected Qari will be announced on air by the AM360 CEO. Lift your voice and let it resound with Al-Faitha at American Muslim 360…together we can remake the world. Ramadan Mubarak!
