Anisah Zarif selected for CWSC Scholarship!
“…O my Lord! advance me in knowledge.” Al-Qu’ran, 20:114.
Community Wide Shuraa Conference, Inc. (CWSC) congratulates Anisah Zarif, the 2016 recipient of the Yahya Karim Muhammad Business and Community Leadership college scholarship award. One of five national scholarships honoring contributions of American Muslim pioneers or families to the American human and civil rights saga, the Award is a national scholarship established in honor of American Muslim pioneer, Yahya Karim Muhammad, retired religious, business and civic leader, and father of seven. Funded annually for graduating college bound high school seniors, current undergraduates or graduate students who show an entrepreneurial spirit or business leadership acumen, and exemplify a strong commitment to community service and educational excellence, the Scholarship is part of the CWSC MAP program that preserves our cultural heritage and history of our families’ pioneers through nationally supported tax deductible college scholarships.
This year’s recipient, honor graduate Anisah Zarif and current Howard University student, typifies the faith-based scholarship, leadership, and character excellence CWSC seeks to recognize, support, and inspire in our future leaders. A leader in higher education, he oversees the diversity initiatives, science outreach, housing and immigration services for more than 400 graduate students.
CWSC’s Executive Director, Mukhtar Muhammad said recently, “Dr. Lambert is also one of our advisors and the future we have been working and waiting for…a stellar combination of faith, rational scientific reasoning, and a practical sensitivity to enhancing community life at all levels. He’s not only remaking the world, but empowering and enabling others to do the same. He has some very innovative ideas about higher education and S.T.E.M. access in general. We have a great appreciation for his scholarship and his support for this work and we’re looking forward to learning from him.”
Paying it forward as a graduate of the Mohammed Schools in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Lambert received his undergraduate degree in biology from Howard University; a masters in clinical epidemiology and health services research from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences; and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the New York University School of Medicine. Because of You–Special Gratitude to Our Supporters…
CWSC held its most successful fundraiser ever because of you–our listeners, hosts, advisors, staff and all contributors (individuals and institutions) and all volunteers in this magnificent vision of a national working intelligentsia, we surpassed the $10,000 goal set for our semi-annual Ramadan national CWSC – AM360 Radiotelethon by raising $10,505! And because of CWSC’s streamlined operations of dedicated volunteers, 21st century technology application, and prudent fiscal policy, we are in the black and ready to secure the future of our intelligentsia. Click here to read our latest annual report. So many have responded to the $9.99 per month level of contribution and we’re grateful because it makes it easy on any one of us, while creating a collectively powerful financial force for good for all of us.
We can now continue expanding our on-air programming, launching the national speakers bureau to bring our intellect and voices front and center to America’s and the world’s public squares, and of course continue growing our scholarships, interfaith and intrafaith programs and more including building the Model Communities National Resource Directory (MCNRD)–serving every institution in our community by empowering organizations and individuals with the tools to tap into the group intellect quickly and conveniently.
We accomplish the mission of unleashing and harnessing the full capacity inherent in the group intellect by the Grace of Allah (SWT). With your support, we’re able to actualize our individual intellects to benefit the group intellect. Appreciation goes to all who donated and shared the Radiotelethon. Thank you to all our AM360 hosts and staff for a superbly executed fundraiser.

And now a reminder of our personal and collective responsibility…
