CWSC Statement on the Passing of Hon. Associate Justice of the Supreme Court Ruth Bader Ginsburg
…Do right actions, urge one another to truth, and to steadfastness.” Al-Qur’an , 103: 1-3
ST. PETERSBURG, FL. – We extend condolences to the Ginsburg Family, friends, colleagues, and all fighting for rights and justice, upon the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Hon. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933-2020)
World Historian J. M. Roberts in his work The Twentieth Century, The History of the World 1901 – 2000 includes among the top three global megatrends that shaped the 20th century and would continue impacting the 21st century, the changing role of women which has far reaching implications for an altering economic, political and social power.
No doubt Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is part of that history and leadership legacy that helped usher in the necessary leadership role for the other half of a group intellect that has been too often neglected or marginalized. Additionally, her impact on the courts as a respected jurist will no doubt help shape the advance of law and civil discourse on our Constitution and the balance of state and individual civil liberties for years to come.
Justice Ginsburg’s life work reminds us that women make up more than half the world’s population and are also half of the creative capacity and genius and consequently half of our problem solving capabilities.
Justice Ginsburg fought against unfair discrimination and for the equality of women as well as minorities and their right to be at the table of leadership across every sphere of endeavor and influence, and she did so with the highest standard of legal, moral and intellectual argument.
Her example on the bench and in her private life as a person of faith, commitment to the institution of marriage and family life, and her community, while battling multiple illnesses including cancer over many years and standing resolute in the face of such great personal difficulty, are an example for us all.
We here at CWSC mourn with the nation and honor Justice Ginsburg’s life and contributions to human dignity, justice and equal opportunity for all. We pray for her and her family and for the nation.
