Statement from Mukhtar Muhammad, CWSC Executive Director, on the Passing of President George H.W. Bush

…Do right actions, urge one another to truth, and to steadfastness.” Al-Qur’an , 103: 1-3

As a political leader, military officer and patriot, and more importantly as a family man and person of faith, he served his community and nation steadfastly, even inspiring among his children, another U.S. President and Governor to serve.

Following so closely after the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush, we extend a prayer for the entire family that any sorrow will in time be replaced with only fond memories of the President’s and First Lady’s accomplishments and their life legacy.

In his 1989 inaugural address, the President stated, “America is never wholly herself unless she is engaged in high moral principle. We as a people have such a purpose today. It is to make kinder the face of the nation and gentler the face of the world.”

The President’s clarion call mirrors CWSC’s guiding principles in our mission to remake the world and are a sobering reminder of the work that lies ahead for all committed to a better America. Rest in Peace Mr. President.
