The Letter to Congress – Standing in Defense of Our Nation’s Future

“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”—Psalm 34:17

Whoever recommends and helps a good cause becomes a partner therein, and whoever recommends and helps an evil cause shares in its burdens.”— Al Quran, 4:85

“Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then let him change it with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” —The Prophet Muhammed (prayers and peace be upon him)

“For evil to succeed, all it needs is for good men [and women] to do nothing.—Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (may he be granted Paradise)”

…Value people when they represent hope for the future…shouldn’t we be hurt when we see something bad happen to them? Whether you know all the values of a people or not, if you just know they love freedom and hate oppression and sacrifice their lives to throw off such oppression. then you must extend your allegiance to connect with them also.”Imam W. Deen Mohammed (R)

INTERNATIONAL – Thank all our faith institutions that have signed The Never Again National Interfaith Letter to the U.S. Congress that was delivered to the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on May 7, 2018. The next deadline of June 13 is quickly approaching to have your organization included in a 2nd iteration of The Letter. Your institutional voice will be on record in the Congress as part of our collective faith voices standing up for our future. Imagine the blessings if we’re able to help save one life! Imagine how our children will feel knowing we’re standing with them. Imagine the blessings of interfaith unity on an issue of such paramount importance.

Our youth have asked leaders across the country to complement our prayers and thoughts with action and in doing so, they remind us that our faith is truly manifested in action and in an engaged, compassionate concern for one another.

CWSC, The World Council of Religious Leaders, the Focolare, Latino Muslims of America (LALMA), NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, houses of worship, community outreach and other civic and community service organizations have said yes that our voices together supporting the student-led Never Again movement is such a cause that can bring about tremendous good in schools and communities across our country. What say you…Join us and hurry…because together we can remake the world. Blessings always.
